Business Strategy Development

Our Business Strategy Development practice focuses on working with planning teams in order to help move the company from a position of “Business as Usual” to one of “Business as Unusual”.

Throughout our 20 years of helping businesses improve and grow, we find that every organization, whether understood by the owners or not, operates as a system - where pulling one lever impacts another area in the company.

When a business is faced with a growth problem, the issues are usually systemic, that is they play out throughout the organization. Starting a planning process will naturally lead to changes throughout the company. By quickly analyzing who you are in terms of past performance, capabilities and current market factors puts your planning and improvement efforts several steps ahead. Understanding your current strategy and the reasons for it is the only place to start a company-wide effort that will guarantee an improved ROI and an improved quality of life for yourself and people.

By taking the knowledge and techniques we’ve developed over 20 years in the CBAP at UIC program, we facilitate companies through a method called Management Through Applied Planning consisting of the following:

  1. Organizing to Plan – building a planning team and preparing for an internal analysis.
Environmental Analysis – We will facilitate your team as you analyze your company inside and out, laying the foundation of creating a future built on the alignment of core competencies and your customer’s perception of value.
  2. Strategic Direction – Exploring options to grow. Focusing on documented competitive advantages, we will facilitate the creation of meaningful vision and mission statements and goals and objectives.
Implementation - this is your goal, results. We will help your team build a strategy-driven action plan utilizing your scarce resources in the most productive way.
